Day 11

Update:

Today a small contingent of our volunteers unloaded and relocated donated food from the early hours of the morning until the afternoon to add to our stock for distribution to the different institutions in need around the island, while the majority of our team worked together with the Dutch marines to continue bringing food and water to the selected distribution points. Two shifts of food distribution were made in St John’s for the St John’s, Saunders, Betty’s Estate and Mary Fancy residents. Some of our team stayed back at the port after the day’s work to help clean up, re-organize and inventory the government donated food in preparation for the next day. In the late afternoon, we delivered water to the NIPA shelter and milk to the White and Yellow Cross. In the evening K1 volunteers worked to inventory all the donated food that was unloaded in the morning and the K1 representatives attended the government meeting to assess how the distribution went today and plan for tomorrow.
