PHILIPSBURG–K1 Britannia Foundation volunteers distributed hundreds of bottles of water to the public on Thursday. The group had trucks full of water and were escorted by the Marines going from district to district.

PHILIPSBURG – The 6-month K1 Britannia Work, Training and Social Development Program concluded with a beautiful ceremony held at the John Larmonie Center on Saturday, June 3.

In November Child Focus presented their After School Activities project in Curacao to a panel of Oranje Fonds representatives. Child Focus Foundation from Saba and the K1 Britannia Foundation from St. Maarten were selected as the nominees from the Caribbean Netherlands to proceed to the final round.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The K1 Britannia Foundation and the Court of Guardianship have recently signed an agreement to continue working together for the next 5 years to help vulnerable youths in St. Maarten.

PHILIPSBURG - For the third year in a row, the K1 Britannia Foundation will be participating in SXM DOET. This year, two special projects will be hosted and will be geared towards vulnerable groups on Saturday, March 11th.

Na een spannende selectiedag zijn de twaalf genomineerden voor de Appeltjes van Oranje 2017 bekend. Deze prijzen worden jaarlijks uitgereikt door het Oranje Fonds. Uit de genomineerden worden drie winnaars gekozen. Zij ontvangen op 18 mei tijdens een feestelijke bijeenkomst op Paleis Noordeinde de prijzen uit handen van Koning Willem-Alexander.

The St. Maarten Regatta organized the 5th Annual Beach Clean-up which took place on Saturday January 14th 2017. With over 100 participants this Beach Clean Up was the biggest one in 5 years. The day began with a beach clean-up, including a treasure hunt, a quiz presented by Tadzio Bervoets, Manager of the St. Maarten Nature Foundation and ended with 10 fun sports games guided by Les Brown, owner of LAB Sport Academy. The total of 86 bags of collected garbage were removed by Clean St. Maarten.

PHILIPSBURG--K1 Britannia Foundation in collaboration with The Foundation Judicial Institutes St. Maarten (SJIS) recently completed its fifth Selectie Training Aspirant Pleegouders (STAP) training which qualifies adults to become certified mentors and foster parents to foster children on the island.

PHILIPSBURG--Sixteen foster teenagers under probationary measures have officially begun their pre-phase of the K1 Britannia Work, Training and Social Development Programme. This training session has been several months in the making, with assistance from a variety of sectors in St. Maarten. The sessions began on Tuesday, according to K1 Britannia Foundation.

The semi-finals were held in Curaçao on November 5. Of 33 entries, 11 organizations from the Dutch Caribbean islands were selected to make presentations, and of those, only two proceed to the finals in the Netherlands. K1 Britannia Foundation from St. Maarten was selected to enter the final round in the Netherlands in 2017.

The Department of Labor Affairs and Social Services endorses the K 1 Britannia Foundation’s project, “Work, Training and Social Development Program.” Representatives from both organizations held conversations, meetings and exchanged email correspondences of which the endorsement was the final result. The endorsement comes on the heels of the call for much needed and deepened collaborative efforts by private sector entities and non-profit organizations, such as amongst others, the K 1 Britannia Foundation.

ST. JOHNS–As a part of the continued partnership between the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation and K1 Britannia Foundation, K1 volunteers recently assisted St. Martin’s Home during various activities celebrating International Day of Older Persons.
