View articleThe St. Maarten Regatta organized the 5th Annual Beach Clean-up which took place on Saturday January 14th 2017. With over 100 participants this Beach Clean Up was the biggest one in 5 years. The day began with a beach clean-up, including a treasure hunt, a quiz presented by Tadzio Bervoets, Manager of the St. Maarten Nature Foundation and ended with 10 fun sports games guided by Les Brown, owner of LAB Sport Academy. The total of 86 bags of collected garbage were removed by Clean St. Maarten.

Of 33 entries, 11 organizations from the Dutch Caribbean islands were selected to make presentations, and of those, only two proceed to the finals in the Netherlands. K1 Britannia Foundation from St. Maarten was selected to enter the final round in the Netherlands in 2017.
View articleThe Department of Labor Affairs and Social Services endorses the K 1 Britannia Foundation’s project, “Work, Training and Social Development Program.” Representatives from both organizations held conversations, meetings and exchanged email correspondences of which the endorsement was the final result. The endorsement comes on the heels of the call for much needed and deepened collaborative efforts by private sector entities and non-profit organizations, such as amongst others, the K 1 Britannia Foundation.
